Civic Association Meeting, Oct. 2
The next meeting of the Sewanee Civic Association (SCA) will be held Wednesday, Oct. 2 at the EQB House. Social time with wine begins at 6 p.m., and dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. Dinner costs $12 per person.
The business meeting begins promptly at 7 p.m., followed by a brief program. The program portion of the evening is free and open to the public. Annual dues of $10 are payable at the door.
The menu consists of roast pork, lemon green beans, sautéed bok choy with broccoli, roasted sweet potatoes, salad and assorted cakes and pies.
At the Oct. 2 meeting, the program will feature Jim Davidheiser, professor of German. He will be discussing “The Dual System of Education (Vocational) in Germany: A Key to Germany’s Economic Success.”
This year, the SCA is celebrating 105 years of civic opportunities in the community. The association brings together community members for social and community awareness. The SCA is the sponsoring organization for Cub Scout Pack 152, Sewanee Classifieds, and the Sewanee Community Chest. Any adult who resides in the area and shares concerns of the community is eligible for active membership.
