November 19 Meeting

Energy will be the focus of the program at the next Sewanee Civic Association meeting, at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 19, at the EQB House. Yearly dues of $10 are payable at the door. Social time with wine begins at 6 p.m., and dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. Dinner costs $13 per person. The business meeting begins promptly at 7 p.m., followed by a brief program.

Representatives from the three utility companies that provide service to the greater Sewanee area will be present: Sewanee Utility District (water), Duck River Electric Membership Corporation (electricity) and Elk River Public Utility District (natural gas).
Each person will talk about energy saving measures, programs for the people who need assistance and the future of their particular utility. The speakers will entertain questions from the audience. The program portion of the evening is free and open to the public.

This year, the SCA is celebrating 106 years of civic opportunities in the community. SCA brings together community members for social and community awareness. It is the sponsoring organization for Sewanee Classifieds, Cub Scout Pack 152, and the Sewanee Community Chest. Any adult who resides in the area and shares concerns of the community is invited to participate.
