Civic Association Meets Feb. 11
The Sewanee Civic Association will meet at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 11, at the EQB House. Lucas Finney and Micah Sparacio will talk about the new initiatives they are leading on the Mountain. Finney is in his second year of the Guitarsome Project, providing remote but real-time interactive guitar lessons by Skype to children in after school programs at several elementary schools. Sparacio is the owner and director of the new Tenacity gym and its programs for community health in Tracy City.
Social time with wine begins at 6 p.m., and dinner ($13) begins at 6:30 p.m. The business meeting begins promptly at 7 p.m., followed by a brief program. The program portion of the evening is free and open to the public.
This year, the SCA is celebrating 106 years of civic opportunities in the community. SCA brings together community members for social and community awareness. SCA is the sponsoring organization for Sewanee Classifieds, and the Sewanee Community Chest. Any adult who resides in the area and shares concerns of the community is invited to participate.
