Welcome Back Picnic, Sept. 22

The Sewanee Civic Association would like to invite the community to a welcome back picnic, Thursday, Sept. 22, at St. Mark’s Hall, Otey Parish. Social time begins at 5 p.m. The picnic will begin at 6 p.m. This event is free.

The menu includes fried chicken, roasted red potatoes, baked beans, cole slaw and Jenny Chapel’s famous carrot cake. In order to ensure there is enough food, a reservation is requested by Tuesday, Sept. 20. Contact Lynn Stubblefield at [email protected]. Babysitting will be available only with advance notice.

This year, the SCA is celebrating 108 years of civic opportunities in the community. The association brings community members together for social and service awareness. The SCA is the sponsoring organization for Cub Scout Pack 152, the Parks Committee, Sewanee Classifieds and the Sewanee Community Chest. Any adult who resides in the area and shares concerns of the community is invited to participate and become a member.

Annual dues of $10 are payable at the door.
